Dramatic 東方 Touhou Unplugged/Classic 154

0 Dramatic 東方 Touhou Unplugged/Classic 154Title: 風神少女
Artist: nazz-can
Circle: =NeutraL= (now Neutral2)
Album: BRIGHTNESS
Original: 風神少女 (Wind God Girl)

I was listening to this song, and I figured that as far as orchestral Touhou goes, if you haven’t heard this, your life is incomplete, thus it’s one of those “must listen” of Touhou orchestral/classical and consequentially, a must have for Merlin.

I’m not kidding in the video title when I say “dramatic”, I mean “effing” dramatic. Nazz-can is one of those arranger who likes to go “all out” when he’s arranging a song, be it metal or orchestral, take that Remilia arrange (666), I’m not fooling around when I say that it’s one of the most epic things I heard. Nazz-can always arranges his orchestras as if it where the end of the world. Another trait that differentiates him from other orchestra Touhou arrangers, like Morrigan, taste or Aojiru. And a trait this guy and Papos have in common.
This song is no exception. As always, nazz-can does not hold back with his volume either, the intro will make your ears bleed if you have your volume set at max.
After the energetic intro the song “settles down” at 1:20 and the orchestra plays the ever popular main tune of Aya’s theme. The moment of rest quickly starts to subside at 2:20 and it starts picking up again with those dramatic trumpets. Finally at 3:25 everything starts to come back, like it was in the beginning. And so goes on, analyze it yourself if you want to.

The best part? It’s all synth and some keyboards probably. LOL ;__;

God knows what nazz-can is up to right now (I’ve seen some stuff of his in some other businesses), but, here’s to hoping he’ll make a grand return to the Touhou business.

Somehow though I think the arrange goes totally against the original Wind God Girl, I don’t really think Wind God Girl is such an epic song, it’s more… jazz then anything else I’d say, of the Latin kind probably. Recently I’ve been listening to some arranges here and there and got hooked to this rearrangement by ZUN from Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red. It has one of ZUN’s super MIDI piano solos.

Talking about dramatic songs, the previous upload was pretty dramatic too. Since the drama this song boosts is so extreme I challenge somebody to write a story on it, make it tragic.

Thanks for watching!

Review: Mega Ranger Figures (Power Rangers Samurai)

0 Review: Mega Ranger Figures (Power Rangers Samurai)Written Review: http://ridersrangersandrambles.com/?p=2276

I finally found these at Target after a small hunt, actually being much shorter and more reasonable then my hunt for the MMPR figures last year. I wasn’t going to get these at first, as I was originally very off put by the SIC like designs BoA had given the Rangers. Besides the rumor that these were molds Bandai was going to use before Saban bought back the franchise and created Samurai, it makes no sense why Bandai would go on a limb and give us non-show-accurate figures in Wave 1 of the series. That STILL bothers me, but I purchased them with an open mind, and I’m honestly glad I did. Keep in mind that I use a lot of Shinkenger terms in the review, as the only American terms we know right now are “Samuraizer” and “Fire Smasher.”

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to like these figures. I’m a sucker for screen accuracy, and I was originally really turned off by the designs and the figures themselves. Finally owning them, I can safely say that I do actually enjoy them. They come off as a very SIC Kiwami Tamashii like take on the Shinkengers, and I guess I can respect that. The mouth plate still bothers me, but I can ignore them, as they are quite tiny in the first place. I have to respect Bandai for bringing some nicely sculpted, painted, and detailed 3.75″ figures to the table, and they are indeed a huge improvement over the MMPR figures in terms of proportions, weapons, and sculpt in general. If you MUST HAVE ACCURACY, then wait and see if they make spandex clad versions for Wave 2, get the unarticulated multi-pack versions, or spend a bunch of money and get the S.H.Figuarts form Japan. For those of you that love Shinkenger or Samurai, and can respect a new take on a favorite design, you’ll love these figures. You can find them at Target and Walmarts as of this review.
