To be a skilled web developer what programs, languages etc do I need to study?

Presently I am planning on taking these courses:

HTML5, CSS3, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Javascript, PHP/MySQL, SEO,WordPress.
Do I need Flash, Ajax, ASP.NET, SQL?
What else do I need or what don’t I need?
What do I need to learn mostly in PHP?

I want to work from home as a freelancer or on a contract basis. I appreciate all your help in this matter. Any suggestions of the best place to learn these in BC Canada?

If you are expert in HTML5, CSS3, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Javascript, PHP/MySQL, SEO,WordPress ,Flash, Ajax, ASP.NET, SQL

you will get more projects.

you will create your profile in freelance site like freelancer.com, http://www.bestfreelancejob.com/ and post bid

  1. Professional web developers do not use Dreaweaver. Flash is dead. No serious web developers use Flash any more. The technology is defunct because half of all internet users can’t view flash content on the devices they use.

All you need is notepad for coding. Or something better like notepad++

Photoshop and Illustrator are not required either, although they may be useful. However, GIMP and Inkscape are free http://www.gimp.org http://www.inkscape.org InDesign has nothing whatsoever to do with web design – its a desktop publishing application!!!!

You know what you should get . . . get XAMPP – it’s free! http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

  2. Look, sometimes its easy to say ‘skilled’ web developer. But to get a skill, you need to do lot of practice in your course.
The field of developer is huge, so you need pick some technology first (make sure it is interesting for you to work on).
Start with basic HTML coding and then one by one pick technologies of your interest and work on them.
PHP is good but it is also a vast course.
